Sewalanka's new office building in Killinochi was declared open by the foundation's vice chairman, Mr. V. Revathan, on the 12th of October 2007. The building is Sewalanka's first permanent building in the Wanni and will house an SLF regional office for the North-1 region and the Sewalanka District office for Killinochi. Thirty staff are based in the building, which also houses a modern conference center.

The foundation stone for a new administration block at Sewalanka's Jaffna office was laid on the 10th of December 2007 and construction of the new building is now in progress. When complete the building will provide Sewalanka's Jaffna operations with much needed space and modern facilities. Staff look forward to occupying the building by mid-2008.

In Febrary 2008, the Venerable Pomnyun Sunim, founder of the Jungto Foundation in Korea, visited Sri Lanka with a team from the foundation. The Jungto Foundation seeks to create a world where individuals are happy, society is at peace and the world is beautiful. Mr. Sunim was in Sri Lanka to speak with religious leaders in Kandy and other locations on the island. Sewalanka is working with Mr. Sunim to get Jungto Foundation registered in Sri Lanka Our two organizations seek similar goals and he is interested in supporting projects that are currently not funded. We look forward to his next visit to Sri Lanka later this year.
