In October 2003, German Agro Action (GAA) and Sewa Lanka Foundation (SLF) initiated Phase One of the Integrated Food Security Programme (IFSP). IFSP aims to improve food security and basic infrastructure for resettling people in Vavuniya North Division and the nothern part of Vavuniya Division. |

Sewalanka was established as a development NGO with a clear mandate: to address the needs of the most vulnerable communities in the most neglected and disadvantaged regions of Sri Lanka. Historically, civil society organisations have formed in response to conditions in a given environment. When Sewalanka was founded in 1993, conflict was raging in the North and East of the country. The communities caught in the middle of this war were clearly among the most vulnerable and disadvantaged. |
